I always have a lot of good silver listed at low opening bids and low shipping, so please check out my other auctions! This is an antique coin, not sterling, silver butter knife with a medallion handle. According to Soeffing's book, Silver Medallion Flatware , this looks to be made by Schulz & Fisher of San Francisco. He says their pieces carry the marks "Coin" and "S. F. Cal." and this piece carries both those marks. They worked in San Francisco around 1870. It also has another very worn mark, which we think might be "H. Zacharias", but we're not sure. It seems Vanderslice (which later became Shreve) was stamped on a lot of their pieces, but not this one. It is about 7-1/4" long. It is in good condition, with some overall light scratching on the blade and tiny dings from normal use and polishing. A LOT of polishing. The pattern is a little worn from it, not real crisp, but still nice. No monogram or other engraving. It is not tarnished and has a nice patina. PLEASE EMAIL ANY QUESTIONS!
