Antique Unusual New York Grocery Store Ornate Victorian Tea Coffee Tin LithoFor your consideration is this Antique Victorian Tin signed “JOHN H. MANN & CO. WHOLESALE AND RETAIL DEALERS IN TEAS COFFEES SPICES AND FINE GROCERIES No. 3 Bastable Block, SYRACUSE, N.Y.” It measures approximately 11" tall x 5" wide x 5" deep. Exact age is unknown, but the highly detailed graphics and artwork on the tin are decidedly Victorian era. There are scratches, dents, slight rust on the tin, as well as a split where the cap meets the top of the tin, a pinhole in the bottom and some of the brass coloring on the bottom has worn off. There is some old solder on the cap – apparently a previous owner had the foresight to ensure the cap wouldn’t get misplaced! All four faces of the tin are decorated with beautiful artwork in a very unusual orange and black and it also displays a great old patina that covers old tin. Please note photos for details. This is a nice example of 19th century country store advertising and would be a great addition to any antique kitchen décor!
