ANTIQUE UZBEK SILK HAND EMBROIDERED WOMEN'S HEAD-DRESS This antique item is very Rare old Uzbek Head-Dress - cover for braids. The article has been used by women for hiding their hair and also for making a beautiful combination with dresses. The age of this item is early 20th century. It is a cap with a back veil. The material is calico fabric of black (now faded to grey) cotton. The cap is decorated with fine silk handmade embroidery. T is a delicate floral pattern embroidered on the back veil. It is the famous Samarkand embroidery. The cap is lined with printed cotton fabric. Size: circumference - 20-21 inches; length including veil - 21 inches.Condition: the back veil has a rip close to the edge. This old Uzbek head-dress is just a beautiful sample of Old Uzbek handmade articles. Feel free to email me with any questions before bidding.
