Antique Vaseline Green Opalescent Art Glass Epergne Description: Four piece epergne consist of three trumpet vases and bowl. Blown of green vaseline and opalescent glass with applied (green vaseline) rigaree. Hand crimped rim on each of the vases has a dark emerald green edge. The opalescent and vaseline green is blown of cased glass. No two are blown the same or exactly alike. One of a kind craftsmanship. Opalescent is only on the crimped rim and on the widest section of the stem or neck of the vase which the rest of the stem is vaseline green. Rigaree is blown if vaseline green pinched seashells that trails in a coil on each of the trumpet shaped vases. Brass holder is well secure. Caps are original. Brass finish has some faded in some areas. Bowl shows more of the darker green at the rim on the exterior side of the bowl and opalescent is more present on the interior side of the bowl which stops just below the bottom of the hand crimped folds is complimented with a lot of blue hues where the opalescent fades into vaseline green glass. From the late 1800's and is from the Stourghbridge Glass Region. Not marked. Guaranteed to Completely Glow Neon Green!!! My camera will not pick up the strong hue is such a dark room. Promise, the new owner will be pleased when the entire epergne is viewed with a black light if they are a collector of vaseline glass.Condition/Measurements: No chips, or hairline breaks. Displays Lovely. There is some mater marks at the very narrow bottom of each, as pics will show it's common to find from age and use. Rigaree hand applied decoration is present. On two of the same size vases, the opalescent in one area on the interior rim of each vase has small spot or specks of carbon from when it was blown, very minor and is mentioned for accuracy of condition. Measures 19-1/2" tall complete. Both of the side vases have a 4-1/8" diameter rim and are just a bit over 10" long. The center vase has a 5-1/4" diameter rim and is 16-1/2" long.
