Offered is a wonderful antique Victorian 10K gold headed presentation cane that measures 36.5 inches long. The gold head of the cane measures 2.75" tall from top to bottom by 1.75" wide on its head from side to side. The piece was acid tested by two seperate jewelers in Knoxville, Tennessee and they both concluded that the top of the cane is 10K gold. The cane is in great condition with no dents, dings, stains, signs of excessive use or abuse or damages of any kind. I do see some expected and typical wear on the cane's bottom tip, but no serious battering or major damages...Just some expected scratches and general wear. The top of the cane is engraved and reads, "Presented to WT Osborne on his 73rd Birthday--March 19, 1902." I see hallmarks on one section of the cane's head as well that read, "2109" and a cross is also seen. The cane's head shows amazing detail...I see Victorian style flourishes and stylized sword-shaped leaves on the piece. The black material of the can itself is a very hard wood of some sort...I can see a tight grain in the cane. I bought the cane at an estate sale in Knoxville, Tennessee, and the relatives of the people conducting the sale said that the cane belonged to another relative who was a merchant on Gay Street for many years. Apparently, he was a very successful and well respected man to deserve such an elaborate gift. No Reserve. Please don't hesitate to E-Mail with any questions.
