Antique Victorian Aesthetic Glass Footed cake plate stand Rare, Old, Beautiful & Elegant, 19 Century, Perfect Condition This auction is for a beautiful Victorian footed or pedestal cake plate. The dish is round in shape with the rim raised a little bit to keep your torte safe in palce. The top of the plate is flat but the reverse side of the top is cut into folded sections which resemble folded accordion ot a harmonica. That is the best I can descire it :-) T is a small well in the middle ot the top. T is a pattern around the top which looks like a lot of glass prisms hanging around. It looks very pretty. The foot of this lovely cake plate has also a pattern which looks like made out of hanging prisms but it is molded in the surface of the glass. The bottom of the foot which is rounded has prisms pattern cut into the glass from the reverse side. It is not only very decorative piece but it is very practical how it is made. Old good masters of art glass were making it that way in the past. It is also work of art because it is so detailed and precisely made. This highly collectible Victorian glass piece is over 6 ½ inches tall. The top is 10 inches in diameter and the bottom is 5 inches in diameter. The cake plate is over 4 Lb heavy which makes it steady and safe from tripping. This antique dish is in great condition. T are no chips, cracks, hairlines or any other damage which is unusual for this kind of design. T are straw marks in the glass and some air bubbles which is expected to find in old glass pieces. T are some light utensils marks at the surface. It is guaranteed old piece which I believe is dating back to 19 Century.
