You are bidding on a beautiful beaded purse from the late 1800s!

It is a black knit fabric with silver seed beads that really glisten in the light.

The handle is 14" long chain. The links appear to be a silver color over brass and the silver is worn off most of them.

The metal snap together closure is good and tight and works fine. The hinges are in perfect condition. It is pewter color metal with tiny holes along the inner edges to sew the fabric onto it.

The purse is stitched on with black thread and in the center on both front and back the stiches are coming loose. They are also coming loose w the hinges are. This could easily be sewn back on.

The interior is made of a beige fabric with small gussets in the center for expansion.

It does not appear to have any beads missing. If t are any missing it is not noticeable.
Some of the beads near the bottom have rusted. It is not very many and if you look close at the lower right corner in the photo you will see them.

This purse is in fantastic condition considering the age.

This came from a lady that would be 92 now and this purse belonged to her Mother when she was young. We do not know the exact age but it would be sometime from 1880 - 1900.
