Up for Auction : An antique bedroom set, including the complete bed, dresser with mirror and washstand. This set was given to me as a wedding present, and has been well-used over the last ten years, but was recently put into storage after we relocated. I know it is from the early 1900's. It is handcrafted including all the carvings and dove-tailing (drawers). I believe it to be walnut, with a painted faux "tiger oak" finish. It has the usual signs of wear of a piece of this age. It will need some TLC: cleaning and oiling, new slats, and tightening of loose joints. In some areas, the finish is worn from use (and several moves!) The bed is a full-size bed. The headboard is 6 feet, 5 inches tall, with a removable flourish carving at the top. It is missing two wooden wheels on the headboard. The footboard is a miniature of the headboard, with similar carvings, standing at 37 inches. The two wheels on the footboard are present. The dresser beveled mirror is in perfect condition with no blemishes. It is easily removed from the dresser by taking out four brass wood screws. The drawers need some work to help them slide easier. All four wooden wheels are present. The washstand has a towel rack, space for a pitcher and bowl, one drawer and a cupboard at the bottom for the "chamber pot". Everything is in good condition and the wheels are in place. T are no distinct markings on the back of any of these pieces. It is well-built and would make a nice bedroom set for a guest room or that special master bedroom.
