This pair of Gorgeous Vintage (circa 1890s) Victorian Blue/Aqua Blue Crystal Mantle Lustres are very rare and in excellent condition for their age. The pair features hand painted flowers in pinks, oranges and other autumn colors as well as lots of Gold trim and Gold detailing. They are large measuring 13 1/4" tall, 6 1/2" in diameter and the prisms are 6" long. Each Lustre has 10 crystal prisms. They feature a cut scalloped top and are the same beautiful aquablue inside and out (color appears to be throughout the vase not painted on). Each Lustre is open in the center all the way down to the table.
They do show some wear. One of the Lustres has a crack around its center (you can see in the picture), this same lustre has two broken prisms (we have most all of the broken pieces and they are included) and a third prism that is a different shape than the others. The 2nd lustre has only minimal wear and all of its original prisms with only minimal wear on them. These mantle lustres are very beautiful and very hard to find (I have never seen another pair like this one). DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS AUCTION!!! T are distinctive markings on the bottom of each lustre that tell their age, Late 1800's. The only place that I have seen any similar to these were in a museum, The E.
