Amazing Bronze Victorian
Picture Frame This frame is extrememly beautiful and very interesting! I'm letting my photos do a lot of the description for me, as this is highly unusual...and... Very fun to look at! The left side of this frame has an ornately done Unicorn(?)/Dragon/Serpent...with cloven hooves. Wrapped around this animal is a heavy link chain. The "horn" on top of the animal's head may actually be feathers... Notice the tongue protruding, (an arrow) as if aimed at the lion across the way... to the right side of the frame... A ferocious Lion wearing a Kings Crown, bearing his teeth! This all creates a very Medieval feel. Seems to represent some form of Mythology... I believe this is Bronze...Amazing Patina! The top of the frame shows what appears to be a globe with an old ship below.... Making you wonder w this old frame has traveled. On the back the letters and numbers stamped into the metal are: 1031.P on the left and RoNo507233 on the right Measurements: 9" x 13 1/2" overall. Photo size: approx. 3 3/4" x 5" Glass included, backing is cardboard, not original to frame. This frame was nearly black when I found it, I did not polish it, but did rub a little with my fingers to better see the beauty of this fabulous patina.
