Up for sale here is a beautiful antique brooch, most probably Victorian, but it could date from anywhere between about 1850 and 1880 most probably.Made of salmon coral, it has a series of carved flowers, stamens, pods etc. and is really exquisite. The mount is not hallmarked and there is some darkening at the edges, so this could be solder and a gold mount, or it could be that this brooch is not solid gold but gold cased.I haven't had it tested so to be on the safe side I will say it's gold cased, but it could well be 14ct or 18ct gold. The pin is a tube hinge type, quite long, with a simple "C" clasp, in good order, and there is a small loop at the top where the metal has been curved so it could be worn on a chain, thought this is only a top loop, not a modern bail. It measures just under 6 cm or 2.5 inches at the base, the widest part. Height is approximately 1 5 inches or just under 4cm. In generally very good vintage condition,
