Hi everybody! Gungirly's auctions have changed just a little bit so please read the fine print. I'm starting the winter with a BANG & have LOTS of wonderful goodies to list! Offered for auction is a wonderfully ornate jeweled Czech Victorian picture frame. St. George slaying the dragon was a popular theme during Victorian, both in jewelry and furnishings ... I believe this unusual old frame reflects that era in it's gothic portrayal of a barbed tongue dragon at the top of the frame and a sword handle at the bottom of the frame. This frame is heavy and well made, it is not light weight and not stamped brass. The finish of the frame is gilt over brass and could us a polishing. T is a hand painted enamel border around the edges of the frame which shows wear, otherwise this wonderful old frame is in very good vintage condition with no damage, no missing stones, no broken pieces. It does not have any glass but does show a lovely Victorian beauty decked out in her finest jewels, .... multiple brooches on the large lace edged bow at her neckline, extra long dangle earrings which would indicate an earlier victorian piece ..... earrings became smaller towards the latter 1800s, she also has a large tortoise shell comb in her hair. This wonderful frame measures 7 1/2" long x 5 3/4" across , the oval photo measures 2 1/2" long x 2" across read more
