FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME ON ANY OF THE ITEMS OR IF YOU HAVE CONCERNS WITH LAY AWAY OR PAYMENT. THIS IS A GREAT OLD ANTIQUE VERY HEAVY LARGE DOUBLE PLATE EARLY PHOTOGRAPH IN THE ORIGINAL 1870s EASTLAKE FRAME. THE FRAME MEASURES 37'' BY 21'' AND THE ACTUAL SIGHT SIZE OF THE PHOTOGRAPH IS 26'' BY 10''. THE FRAME HAS THE TYPICAL MINOR CHIPPING FOUND ON THESE TYPES OF FRAMES AND THE ORIGINAL BACKING IS STILL THERE. THE GLASS IS NOT THERE. THE PHOTOGRAPH IS TWO SEPERATE PLATES PLACED ON THE BACKING TOGETHER TO CREAT A PANAORAMIC VIEW OF THE SITTERS AND THIER ESTATE. YOU CAN SEE THE CENTER SEAM IN THE PHOTOS. THE PERSON WHO OWNED IT SAID IT WAS THE ASTOR FAMILY AND THAT THE PHOTO WAS TAKEN BY G. W. PACH A VERY PROMINENT PHOTOGRAPHER WITH STUDIOS ON BROADWAY IN NEW YORK CITY. I CHECKED THE ADDRESS AND PACH WAS AT THE ADDRESS FROM 1871 - 1877. THE STAMP FOR PACH STUDIOS IS ON THE LOWER RIGHT OF THE PHOTO CARD. I HAD A CONVERSATION WITH A PERSON AT THE NEW YORK CITY HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND THEY HAVE AN EXTENSIVE COLLECTIION OF PACH PHOTOS. THEY HAVE NOTHING LIKE THIS PANAORAMIC VIEW IN THIER COLLECTION. THEY LOOKED AT THE PHOTOS OF IT AND THEY SAID THAT IT IS VERY LIKELY THAT IT COULD BE THE ASTOR FAMILY AS PACH ONLY DID WORK
