Antique Victorian gold filled locket black enameling Recently purchased from an Estate this is an antique Locket that has beautiful black enameling workmanship on the front. The oval shaped locket measures approx. 1 ¼ inches long by at widest point approx. 1 inch. Inside the locket are two frames, each having their bezels and with one side having its original oval piece of plastic or glass atop a purple colored velvet material – all original. I did not take the locket apart – I would think that this locket could possibly be gold filled as lockets of this vintage usually were. The locket is hinged and has a soft closure and is a little raised but it does remain closed. This antique locket shows wear consistent with its’ age - slight dents and scratches especially on the back side - not so much on the design area.
