antique Victorian intaglio seal motto flower miniature smelling salt jar 4035Lovely little piece, the glass section is melon shaped and a yellow amber colour (the design continues to the bottom and there is no flat area, though the piece does stand up). The lid is part brass to the lower section and has an inner silver grille in the shape of a rose. The cover is an intaglio seal with a central image of flowers / roses in a basket. The text reads: THE EYES ON ALL THE ?? ART ON ONE size - 1 inch high condition - very good - presents well, there is minor tiny nibbles to the underside commensurate with age and the shape of the design, no significant damage. The intaglio lid lifts of with ease to reveal the inner grille. I have not removed the grille, or the entire top from the glass as these do not come away easily and may require a clean etc. in order to remove safely. There appears to be some contents or a residue inside this is dry and not liquid and presumably is dried up smelling salts or similar pommander type material (there is no aroma)my ref - 4035 combined shipping is FREE on subsequent items - you only pay once for postage!
