This is a wonderful antique Victorian Era sewing caddy / box ! It is made of wood with a white finish, accented by lattice design metal embellished with milk glass cabochons . The top has a decorative brass ornament with loop ring. The bottom of the box is covered with green felt. The box opens by pushing the button or stopper. Inside, the top lid is painted red and lined with red silk moire trimmed in chenille. The bottom has a fitted section covered in red velvet. Inside this section are two genuine ivory thread cards, both carved from a single piece of ivory and holding original floss in black and cream threads. Also included is an ivory needle case in excellent condition with lovely graining. The special piece is the fabulous scent or perfume bottle! Very desirable! It is made of extremely thick glass or crystal with a silver lid. Remove this lid to reveal a dainty little ground stopper. This bottle alone is worth the price of the opening bid. Overall item is very good condition for age. Outside white paint shows wear/distressing. Otherwise all else good. Box closed measures 5" x 2 3/4" x 3 3/4". All milk glass pieces are present.
