Here onoffer is a wonderful leather photo album with 31 carte de visite and 25 cabinet photographs, from the late-1800s through to about 1900. The album cover is made from rich dark brown leather that has been tooled and embossed design. The leather is in really good condition, the spine of the album is in good shape showing some wear and some fractures to the leather along the creases. It still has the clasp. The edge of each page is in gold. When opened the fly pages are in thick glossy ribbed paper with a water shot texture. Each page has two arched frames housing a single cabinet photo with a single CDV above. The pages are cream with the frames accented in gold, some have a little foxing. There is a damage to two of the photo slots, the rest are in good order. Almost all of the photos are individual portraits and include men, women and children, there are some wonderful groups, and there is one of a gent in legal robes. The carte de visite photographs are all about 6cm by 10cm and were often used in place of visiting cards by the rich in society. There are 31 CDVs in total plus space for one further CDV.
