Double your traffic. From an old estate in Westwood NJ. Lovely Victorian Mourning Portrait Pendant with Hair Window(no hair) Portrait is on a flake of paper and was secured with glue that has since become loose. Pendant can be opened by removing the glass. There is a window in the back where a braid of the mourned persons hair could be saved. I believe the metal is Gold filled. It seems to shine both gold and silver depending on the reflection of light. I did not test for gold.Winning Bidder must respond and pay by Paypal within 3 days.Insurance will be added at checkout. This is a hand painted portrait possibly on card or thick paper, I dont know if it is ivory but it is very thin wafer w/some flex to it. It is somewhat translucent and you can see the portrait thru the back. The backround seems a bit sloppy and the color is not uniform. The wafer was glued to a paper matte, kind of crude, made to fill in the gap as the portrait is smaller than the frame. The wafer has come loose from the matte. I dont see any of the damage except for the crude paper matte has a water stain. The glass and the frame are in good condition with the patina of age. I dont know if it is silver, plated or gold. It kind of shines both colors . Those who have looked at it remark about the resemblance to Abraham Lincoln. Maybe someone made this in his honor read more
