Antique Ornate Oak / Gesso Wood Frame w/ family Portrait Up for bid a unique ornate oak & Gesso wood frame w/ leaf design and old family portrait. Frame is in great condition for its age. Gesso decoration is a scroll type of leaves. Very solid condition with the original square brads holding the backing in. Few pieces of gecco is missing from the corners and looks as if one end was nailed back on some time time ago. Family portrait is of a husband and wife, seated, and what appears to be their 5 children standing behind them. Background image is a victorian style house. Both photograph and frame looks to have been done by MacArthur photographer studio in Hopkinton, Iowa. I took the backing off of the frame to view the photo. Original silver backing photo is held to the matting by a sticker torn in half. Sticker reads (if put together) as follows: Picture Frames When you want this picture framed or anything in the picture frame line go to MacArthur Photographer and dealer in Fine Picture Frames, Mouldings, Mats, Etc. Any size frame made to order promptly Hopkinton, Iowa Gesso frame measures 22" x 19" from outer corners. Internal wood frame measures 17 3/4" x 14 1/2". Inside of frame measures 14 1/4" x 11 1/2". Matting is 2 1/2" and photo inside matting is 9 1/2" x 7 1/2". All sizes are approximate. What a great addition to any collection! MY RESERVE IS VERY LOW AND JUST COVERS WHAT I HAVE INTO THIS PIECE.
