Up for auction is an Antique Victorian Ornate Silverplate Cruet Holder or perhaps it was a perfume bottle holder. This piece dates to the 1880's and was manufactured by the Hartford Silverplate Co who were in business from 1881 to 1893. This holder has a lovely pattern around the perimeter of the holder and the handle is graced by 2 birds. Please see the photos for a better idea of the ornate design because t is a lot of design and the photos do a better job of conveyance than my words. The silverplate appears to be mostly worn off and whatever maybe remaining is badly tarnished. The good news is that the holder does not appear to have any damage and is in good condition. It is marked "Hartford Silver Plate Co, HFD, CT. Quadruple Plate". The holder is 11 3/4" tall, the area w the bottles fit is 4 1/4" square and the bottles that would fit the holder would be 1 1/2" square. The very bottom is a little wider and is 5 1/2" square.
