You are looking at an incredible, original Victorian Sapphire & Diamond Snake Ring. It is an authentic turn of the century piece. (And it is STUNNING!) Snake rings were made popular by Queen Victoria symbolizing wisdom and eternal love. Queen Victoria wore her own snake ring; it signified her love for Albert. The snakes intertwining represent the bride and groom's love. The ring features an approx. .55 old mine cut diamond. It is very white and eye-clean. We did not take the stone out to weight it, so weâe(tm)re being very conservative on weight. It could certainly weigh more. The Sapphire is lovely shade of blue, however it has surface abrasions since the ring is around 100 years old. It is approx. 1ct. The eyes of the sapphire snake are two tiny diamonds. The diamond snake has two tiny green eyes. Weâe(tm)re not sure if they are emeralds or demantoid garnets. The ring is a size 3.5 - but it can be easily sized to fit your finger.
