I have removed the reserve price form this listing! It is now simply up for auction, beginning at the 199.99 price! //Please read all details of this listing concerning description and shipping , and payment before bidding on this lovely piece of history . This is also listed on Craigslist . Antique Victorian Settee, 1860's. Covered in a Pale Peach-gold velvet . Highly carved and decorated designs, in l ovely ***Rosewood on back, arms, legs. T was a question about the wood possibly being ***walnut . I reiterate, that I am not a dealer , but Rosewood is my best guess, since I was informed it is most likely a Belter. I have tried to describe it as best as I can, given my lack of knowledge on the subject. What I do know is that this is a really nice piece, that has been well taken care of. It has been shampooed in the last month, and lives in my dining room , ( a room that is closed off for the most part, unless a holiday approaches!) When I first acquired it, I intended to reupholster it ( since that is what I do),but never found the time, and now am on a continuing remodeling project in my home. Measurements are appr., its hard to measure because of it's flowing curves!: 39" tall at center back, from ground to top of floral carving 70" Long, slightly curved 28"deep from back to front at arm 21" from floor to top of arm ***PLEASE SEE SHIPPING DETAILS BEFORE PLACING YOUR BID ** Please note: IF YOU HAVE PLACED A BID, AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT BEFORE CONTINUING THE BID, I WOULD BE GLAD TO ARRANGE IT, HOWEVER, ONLY IF YOU HAVE PLACED A BID . I HAD THIS LISTED BEFORE AND WAS INUNDATED WITH FOLKS THAT WANTED TO SEE IT BEFORE THEY BID..SO I TOOK IT DOWN. LIFE IS BUSY, I HAVE GRANDCHILDREN! THE RESERVE PRICE IS QUITE LOW, SO PLEASE DON'T BE AFRAID TO PLACE ANY REASONABLE BID, I MAY ACCEPT IT AS A SECOND CHANCE! I believe I am the 3rd owner, originally purchased in New York, about 1860 from Original MFG. I am not an antique dealer ! This style is highly sought after for Victorian home decor. Similar prices, I have seen at auction upwards of $15,00.00., Since I have not had it authenticated, I cannot charge that price , so whoever buys this is getting a super bargain! I intended to reupholster this to match my home, but time just wasn't on my side, and we are going through on-going renovations to our 100+ year old home. Condition: Good : upholstery is about 20 years old, my guess, no visible rips or tears, only slight wear from normal use. Wood is generally good, has tiny dings and t, I would call it normal wear and tear, and for a piece this age, it is remarkable. *** I have more pictures, and will email them to you on request.*** ** *Items must be paid for within 24 hours( See acception above) of final bid. If purchasing an item that is for local pick up, please make arrangements within that 24 hour period. *Items not paid for, or arrangements for payment and pickup will be relisted for sale. *****Please communicate!! I check email every day, so if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask! Thank you, Have a Wonderful Day! Happy Bidding!
