Description A nice genuine antique late Victorian solid silver albert chain cigar cutter fob, dating from around 1895. Lovely example with solid silver handle and sprung Sheffield steel blade, (stamped Sheffield), has a hole in handle for inserting cigars/cheroots and snipping the ends. Designed to hang from a silver watch chain and still has its silver bale ring attached. No engraved monograms or initials. Measurements Measures approx 34mm when closed, and 53mm when fully extended excluding bale ring. Hallmarks The hallmarked are rubbed, looks to be stamped "S S" denoting sterling silver and also has the maker initials "M L". The handle is 100% guaranteed to be solid silver and is a late Victorian example, dating from around 1895. Condition Good condition and in working order, the spring on the blade is still excellent, and is sharp and snips cigar ends nicely. Couple of very minor dents/bruises on the silver handle, but nothing much. Nice item.
