Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Scottish Agate Anchor Cross Pin LARGE! 3 1/2" Please check out my store for more vintage jewelry, additional items ship FREE! This is a fabulous antique Victorian era Scottish cross & anchor pin. I am guessing 1870's ish? Very large pin in sterling silver with an ornate embossed/chaised floral design. Long slender banded agate stone in shades of browns to white. The total length of the pin including the circle on top is 3 5/8". I don't see a hallmark but acid tests as sterling grade silver. I found a mark on the back that might be a designer or maker mark? It looks like a stylized letter L and something else, I can't make it out. I tried to get a close up so be sure and look at the last few pictures for best description. In amazing condition, some tarnish and normal age/use wear. I have not tried to clean it. UPDATE!!! A fellow ebayer emailed to ask about something he spotted in the first picture. Upon closer inspection I can see that it may have had a repair at some point. If you look at the base of the anchor on the left side where it meets the center rod you can see where it looks like it has been re-soldered. I inspected it pretty closely when I listed it and didn't notice it at all until it was brought to my attention. Be sure and enlarge the pictures in case I overlooked anything else! Older read more
