ANTIQUE VICTORIAN SOLID OAK FRAME, quarter-sawn oak - very tight grained - tiger oak ? Outside edge of frame and the edge around the opening have rounded edges. T is a raised grove around the center of each of the sides. Outer measurements of the oak frame are almost 13 inches by 15 inches (actual size is 12 ¾ inches by 14 ¾ inches.) The size of the opening is just over 10 inches by just over 12 inches (actual size is 10-3/8 inches by 12-3/8 inches) The frame is circa 1880's - 1910's Oak graining seems tight, probably quarter-sawn tiger oak. Nice honey colored oak - almost the original finish - was probably refinished a long time ago. Deep rich honey color. Corners tight - NO WIGGLE! Frame has the old glass with a few charming bubbles, and a cardboard backing, but the original wood back has been gone for a long time. Frame weighs about 3 pounds with the glass and backing, before any packing materials. The depth of the frame is about 3/4 inch. You could use the frame vertically or horizontally. The wire is horizontal now. ALL SALES FINAL. I am selling items that have some age to them. Naturally t will be irregularities and flaws, just because of the age.
