ANTIQUE VICTORIAN SOLID TIGER OAK FRAME WITH RAISED DESIGN FIGURAL COPPER PLAQUE. Frame and plaque are both circa 1890 - 1900's. Info: Original finish on the tiger oak frame, with those beautiful tiger stripes. Finish is in good condition.
Shine is from CAMERA GLARE - color is good and uniform. The frame is solid, corners are good - maybe very slight spacing on one or two corners, but so slight really just noticeable close up. See photos. No wiggle to the frame. Oak frame contains a raised design copper plaque, original to the frame. Subject is a young maiden with a bonnet walking with a gentleman. Good three-dimensional detail to the plaque. You can even see the blades of grass and the leaves and grapes on the vines. Wood backing on the plaque. Frame with plaque weighs about 5 pounds before any packing materials. Outer size of frame is 14 inches wide by 16 ½ inches long. From the front the tiger oak molding is 2 ¾ " wide. The frame is 1/2 inch deep at the outside edge but becomes thicker at the molding reaches the center opening for the plaque. A few superficial scratches on the frame. Copper plaque measures 9 inches wide by 11 ½ inches long. It is surrounded by a gold gilt lining that is next to the tiger oak. The plaque and the gold lining are also in good condition. ALL SALES FINAL. I am selling items that have some age to them. Naturally t will be irregularities and flaws, just because of the age.
