Antique "Vienna Austria" Porcelain 1890's Handpainted Cups and Saucers - Delicate, Danty, Stunning is how I would describe these cups and saucers. They are an 'egg shell' feel and are translucent when held up to the light. They are handpainted with Lillies of the Valley and Forget Me Nots in shades of blue and green. The inside of each cup looks like "Mother of Pearl" and is just stunning. This set has been well cared for. There are no chips, cracks or crazing on any of the pieces. The gold gilding is exceptional and is found on the rim of each cup, the rim of each saucer. I believe the handle of each cup and the feet of each cup has been hand brushed heavily in gold. This is fine art porcelain to be known like that of the former Imperial and Royal Porcelain Factory. The mark on the back of each cup is as you see in the pictures. The Vienna Austria Crown and two Shields is the mark used in the late 1800's by the Count Thun Factory. MEASUREMENTS: each cup - 2" high x 3 1/4" wide x 2" tall, each saucer - 4 1/2" wide. I have a T&V Limoges (Marked) pitcher that is not part of the set but looks as though it could be. I displayed it that way. It is not part of the set that I am selling in this auction. It does match this set but I am selling it separately because it is not part of this set. I am selling these 5 cups and 5 saucers as a set. The asking price is for 5 cups and 5 saucers. I am not a dealer. I am a collector. I love Limoges and fine Porcelain. I want to collect more but have run out of room in my cabinet (where this set has been for 5 years) so I'm am selling some of my pieces. I try to be as accurate as I can be. I research what I can and am honest. I sell this set as is. I accept PayPal and before I send the set I must receive payment in full. Shipping will be $12.00 and have included insurance costs in the price of the auction item.
