Antique/Vintage 1940's Art-Deco UNDERWOOD "SS No. 6" Standard Manual Typewriter WORKING CONDITION! Typewriter has serial number: 11-6615272 which according to the "Typewriter Database" web-site, was made in 1949. Although made in the 1940's it does have a copyright date range of 1895 to 1923 as shown in close-up photo #9. It is a large, heavy piece with a completely metallic matte finish body, charcoal gray in color with black bakelite/hard-plastic keys. Typewriter is in Art-Deco style with beautiful shiny chrome (nickel/chromium) lines around the sides as shown in photos #3-5. As for function, the typewriter is in excellent working condition, the type is shown in photo #11. As for cosmetic condition it is in super clean condition with no known issues and only very minor signs of previous use and age, NO damage. There is some faint remnants of writing on the front above & below the word "Underwood" as shown in opening photo #1. This may be able to be cleaned/scrubbed out but I did not want to damage the finish so I left it as is. The keys are overall clean and intact, no cracks, see photos #6-8. Please also refer to and zoom-in on all photos for the cosmetic condition of the typewriter as this is part of the description. The typewriter itself weighs roughly 36 lbs. and it measures 13.25" front to back, 11.75" wide (body of typewriter) read more
