WELCOME TO SABINEMOON -- THE BEST LITTLE QUILTHOUSE IN TEXAS! Quilt lovers, collectors, and textile fanatics...we're glad you've come to visit! If you love cabinets chock-full of gorgeous old quilts...use your quilt collection year-round as fabulous wall-decor...or simply have an addiction to amazing old textiles (like we do!)...you've come to the right place! Most of our quilts are picked up on the backroads of rural Texas -- exploring every little country auction-barn and estate sale we can find. In our travels, we are constantly in search of exceptional examples of the quilter's art. Our favorites are not always the finest museum pieces, but rather fabulous prairie-style/pineywoods quilts that we refer to as TRUE TEXAS FOLK-ART. What we would like to provide is a place to stop-over, sip a cup of "java", get a little history and Texas culture lesson to boot...and then perhaps purchase a piece that will let the sunshine into your heart when you open the box on arrival. W e would like to thank our regular customers for your continued support -- your friendship and patronage is warmly appreciated and is the true "treasure" that has evolved from this endeavor. If this is your first visit to Sabinemoon, we hope to see you back often. 's a few great reasons to take this opportunity to start your OWN quilt collection or add to your existing "gathering" of antique textiles. Bid with confidence -- all listings qualify for our standard SATISFACTION-GUARANTEE -- if you don't like it, you don't have to keep it. We proudly acknowledge that what we sell is not always a QUILT that will actually be used as a bed linen...it is ART, and we welcome you to our gallery -- you will find some of the most SPECTACULAR, GRAPHIC quilts on-line -- we love COLOR, PATTERN and FORM. We know our textiles and have the experience to back it up -- we have collected, bought and sold quilts for over 20 years...and have helped build some note-worthy collections from coast-to-coast. These old hand-made quilts are fastly becoming extinct -- like other dying arts or disappearing species -- we should all think about building a collection as a legacy to our children and grandchildren. We sell everything without reserve -- our starting price simply protects our investment and w it goes from t is totally up to you. All buy-it-now purchases are shipped FREE...no matter how many you purchase. So take a look...visit often...and CELEBRATE true auctions and EBAY AT ITS BEST with Sabinemoon! Age: 1940s-era Item/Pattern: 16-Patch/Checkerboard/Irish Chain -- also see a Robbing Peter to Pay Paul pattern -- and depending on how you look at it, a Pickle Dish/Wedding Ring pattern emerges...so this one is a real OPTICAL illustion -- made up of hundreds and perhaps thousands of small, intricate pieces -- highly GRAPHIC, and fully capable to grabbing ALL the attention in any room you choose to use it in -- this quilt displays SPECTACULAR visuals and GORGEOUS colors of red and creamy white, with an accent star/diamond design of aqua-blue -- all solid colors, giving it a very GEOMETRIC appearance -- an AWESOME combination of color and form -- will fit well in any decor from cottage/cabin-style to Farmhouse Victorian to Moderne Art -- an old Texas BEAUTY that you will proud to add to your collection!Fabrics: All old 100% cottons -- nice-quality fabrics that were probably purchased just for the construction of this quilt -- narrowly banded in aqua-blue, and backed in solid creamy cotton -- straight edges. Batting: Light-weight old hand-carded cotton batting that came straight from the cotton patch, and appears to have been pretty well cleaned of most seeds and debris -- fairly thin -- obviously made as a family showpiece. Handwork: Totally hand-pieced and plentifully hand-quilted "in the ditch" around each little piece at 6-7 small stitches per inch -- lots of time, t...
