I'll be honest and say that I really don't know WHAT I have here. I found this at the flea market some time ago, and I have not been able to identify it. If you know - send a message through eBay. This is a metal fixture of some kind. I think it is pot metal with a brass, bronze or copper surface plating. (Whatever it is, it's pretty HEAVY.) It is an Eagle, perched on a log, or branch, atop what looks like a beer barrel. The bottom of the barrel is OPEN, and I think that this is supposed to rest on top of something. There is a hole on the front of the barrel, under the word "BUSCH." It appears to be a factory made screw-hole. (I assume that this was placed on top of something, then held in place with a screw.) The barrel is embossed: "THE FAMOUS ANHEUSER BUSCH...ST....MO." (For some reason, the "LOUIS" in "ST. LOUIS" was never printed onto the barrel.) It appears to have a good amount of age to it - but I can't say what decade it might have been made. From the bottom of the barrel, to the top of the letter "A," (in which the eagle is standing) it measures about 7 inches tall. The round opening, on the underside does NOT have any screw threads. The bottom opening is 1 & 3/4 inches wide. It seems too big & heavy to be part of a beer tap handle. It has been suggested to me, that is might be the top for a flag pole? A fixture from a
