This pattern is absolutely magnificent!!!! Pattern is known as the classic Princess Feather. Colors include red, orange, and light brown on ivory white muslin. The light brown could have aoriginally been a green in its early life and has since faded to the currect light brown. (This is typical of early green fabrics....the early green dyes were very unstable and sooner or later they would shed the green and become light brown.) Edges of the piece are machine-hemmed and the block seams, also done by machine, use a red piping....quite unusual in my experience. Only a handful of minor blemishes that include one light dime-size spot, one pinhead-size spot, a cluster of spots along edge that include a cluster of tiny rust specks along the edge and a cluster of three light rust spots each the size of a pencil-tip-eraser. With those t are two inch-long lines of tiny rust specks. Another edge has an extremely faint yellow spot that measures about 1.5" in diameter. The entire top measures approximately 75" x 75". Not certain of age...likely sometime mid -1800's. A BEAUTY!!! Many photos follow to show details up close!
