are 4 beautiful what I believe to be either Chinese or Japanese antique/vintage silk squares or mats. I really don’t know much about them other than what I have observed. Each one measures approx 6 ½” x 6 ½” and has a scalloped edge. They are decorated with stunning gold thread and wonderful crewel work. I believe that everything is hand stitched. Each is backed with silk (t is no padding) and has a hand basted small linen tag attached. Two of the tags the numbers have worn away, the other two have the printed number 69-902. On one corner of each square you can see the hand stitching from w it was turned right side out to finish. I believe the gold thread and crewel is also silk. They are all in very good condition.

I took many photos for those knowledgeable in this area to view and evaluate. I don’t know what or how old they are but they are truly beautiful and I believe the new owner will be very happy.
