Welcome To Ricochet Roy's Old West "W The Old West Is As Real As The Heart Can Dream" ***Featured Item Description*** We are pleased to offer for Auction this Antique- Vintage Set Of Buermann "New Up-To-Date, One Piece, HERCULES BRONZE Spurs, Sold By The North & Judd Mfg. Co. They are featured on page 49 in the August Buermann Mfg. Co. Illustrated Catalogue No. 35, Model No. 1284-1/2-Patent , please see our attached photo . They feature beautiful floral engravings with a single nickel silver spot ornament. Buermann first Patent this spur design on 9-29-09. This set of matching of spurs are stamped on the heel bands below the nickel silver buttons with the famous Buermann 5 point "Star" hallmark, on the inside heel bands with "HERCULES BRONZE", and below the shank with the famous North & Judd " Anchor " hallmark, please see our attached photos. Estimated Circa when first sold is 1927. They measure about 6 inches long, including the 2-3/4 inch shanks including the 1-3/4 inch 10 point nickel silver rowels. The rowels spin freely, t are no bent or broken points, and they are original. The boot opening is about 3-1/8 inches wide. T are no bends, breaks or repairs. They are strong and ready to ride. This set of Buermann spurs are very collectible in their pristine & unpolished condition and would truly make a treasured addition to any Old West Spur Collection, to proudly wear at SASS events, or they would make a great gift idea for that Special Cowboy. The Term "Buermann Spurs Sold By The North & Judd Mfg. Co." Please let me explain what we mean by the Term "Buermann Design Spurs Sold By The North & Judd Mfg. Co." In 1926 the August Buermann Manufacturing Co. was purchased by the North & Judd Manufacturing Co. A great deal of the Buermann stock was on-hand at this time, which N&J later included their "Anchor" hallmark. After North & Judd's purchase, they continued to produce many of the August Buermann design spurs. Many of the North & Judd Spurs are featured in the August Buermann Manufacturing Co. 1923 Catalogue #35, which was the last Catalogue Buermann published. As the years went by, many of the Buermann Design Spurs were offered by North & Judd in various metals and finishes that were not offered by Buermann. Buermann designed spurs that were actually manufactured by North & Judd were never stamped with the Buermann 5 point "Star" hallmark. A Brief History Of The North & Judd Manufacturing Company In 1832, the North Company began making saddlery hardware. In 1863, Hubert F. North and Lorin J. Judd founded the North & Judd Mfg. Co. In 1878, North & Judd began using the "Anchor" stamp to mark their pieces. By 1900, North & Judd employed 500 people. The North & Judd Mfg. Co. furnished products for the Spanish American War and World War One, and was in existence longer than any other spur manufacturer. In 1926, The North & Judd Mfg. Co. purchased the August Buermann Mfg. Co. Years later they continued to offer the original Buermann design spurs, and they also offered these spurs in a variety of metals and finishes that were not offered by Buermann.
