These binoculars were made by Carl Zeiss Jena. They are 6 x 30 and are marked several ways. T is some paint loss from age, but the optics are wonderful. They were stroed in this case and that kept the lenses from damage. On the left they are marked Carl Zeiss Jena and on the right they are marked with several things. I can't quite make out the top word but it looks like _ispelglas or something like that, then it has D.F. 6 X 30 and a serial number with 6 numbers in it, and outside of that emblem t is a date or numbers that looks like 1917. T is a spot of leather missing wear a thumb would rest, and a nick in the bakelite material at the right eye. The glass lenses are all good with no damage. Some of the paint is worn around the lettering and numbers making them harder to read. They work so well...I would keep them if I cared what size clothes were hanging on my neighbor's line were, but I really don't need them for anything. The case is marked CASE CARRYING M17. One of the leather loops that hold the smaller handle that has red and blue on it is broken, so you have to carry the case with the long shoulder strap. Although the superficial condition of the exterior items on these vintage antique quality binoculars show age and wear, they are a wonderful collectible functional set of early old Carl Zeiss Jena binoculars.
