A large and dramatic shawl, as colorful as the photographs convey (c1920). Embroidered with a large cabbage rose at each corner and a smaller one in the center, plus other filler flowers leaves and vines throughout. Measures 61 x 62 inches, plus an additional macrame border that is 5 inches wide, ending with fringe that is 26 inches long. This shawl has a net weight of 4lbs. 8oz. and is found w ithout: tears/holes/repairs, in an excellent condition. Due to the size and weight, it is appropriate for decor rather than wear. For your information: the macrame and fringe was attached in the traditional manner of direct perforation to the silk panel but for some reason was then cut and machine sewn as can be seen in photographs 6 and 7 .
