Miss Faye, a dear family friend has asked my help in Mid- life paring. Her basement is chock full of goodies. After a few husbands, In-laws, kids, and a hobby of remodeling old houses (she's done 4 I believe), she's doing the mid-life pare down (I laugh, she's almost 60 and doing 70) I am now near an expert on any of her stuff, so I'll describe what she's selling to the best of my ability, spiced with her notes and provenance ...

Up for bid is a Vintage/Antique Oriental Enamel Cloisonne 8" Vase. This came to Miss Faye via a relative- she has no information on it. It measures 8" tall X approx 4" across at its widest. It has no makers mark that we can identify. Green enamel on inside of lip and it appears on the inside bottom (I had to get a flashlight)- simple Floral motif with lots of curlicues and medallions. Reddish Brown Background with Periwinkle and White flowers- Dark Blue fish scales around the bottom and top. Medallions are Pink, Dark and Light Blue, Green and a sparkly Blue. Lots of curlicues all over- has Black and sparkly Green around flowers. No visible dents or damage- it does have some minor chinking/pitting on surface which I understand is normal in the surface of older pieces. PERFECT TO ADD TO ANYONE'S COLLECTION. No UPS to P.O.Boxes.

We are not experts or collectors- My description is my opinion and a noted scratch or chip may seem small to me but may be much worse to someone else or even vice versa. As with any vintage/used item t can be aging flaws, crazing, scratches, or wear on the edges. In the case of vintage glass, t may be manufacturerâe(tm)s defects including straw marks, bubbles, or bumps.
