I am offering an antique German Kitchen Room Box I purchased on German eBay 6 years ago. It dates from the 1920's and is made of wood. It comes with a wooden cupboard w/glass doors (1 pane needs to be reglued), a wooden table & 2 chairs, a wooden bench, a large hanging shelf unit and 3 smaller units. T is a metal stove and a metal sink. I have also included a handmade old style refrigerator with the motor on top that was made in the 1974 by a craftsperson. It is signed on the bottom. (please see separate photo). This room box is a very nice example of an item that is hard to find in the United States.
The roombox measures 30 inches across the front and 22 inches across the back. It is 12 inches deep and 13 inches high. I think the paint and floor paper are original. The floor paper is stained (please see photo). The cupboard is 6.5 inches wide X 12 inches high X 2.75 inches deep. The table is 5.5 inches wide, 4 inches high & 3.5 inches deep. The stove is 4.5 inches wide X 5.5 inches high (back) X 3 inches deep The door opens. The chairs measure 6 inches high X 3 inches wides X 2 inches deep. The bench is 6 inches wide X 2 inches deep X 2.75 inches high. The sink is 8 inches high X 5 inches wide (base) X 3 inches deep (base). The larger shelf unit is 8 inches high X 5.5 inches wide X 1.5 inches deep. The smaller shelf unit on the left is 3.5 inches high X 4 inches wide X 2 inches deep. The refrigerator is 2 5/8 inches wide X 5.75 inches high (to top of motor) X 1.75 inches deep.
The kitchen has a large assortment of accessories, some from the period and some later. They include: a small glass bottle, a metal tea strainer, a wooden rolling pin, a copper pot w/cover, a set of 3 metal measuring cups, a metal toaster, a metal beer stein, a china jam pot w/cover & spoon, a metal can opener, a metal waffle iron, a wooden cutting board, a wooden mallet, 2 metal pots (1 with cover), a metal gravy boat, a metal funnel, a metal loving cup, a metal shell shaped dish, a metal basket, a ceramic egg cup, a flower pot, a wooden kerosene lamp, a china tea set for 4, a glass canister jar, 2 metal spoons & 1 fork, a white glass jug, 1 small ceramic tea cup, a glass basket, a blue china plate, a metal champagne bucket with plastic ice & bottle, a pitcher made from a shell, 2 small baskets, 1 orange metal shovel, 2 metal ice cube trays, a white china platter, a small white pitcher, a glass decanter, a glass jug, a glass oil lamp, a red & white checked gingham tablecloth & napkins, 2 celluloid dolls & 1 plastic doll & 2 plates of food.
