~*~Hello and thank you for looking~*~ Up for auction today is this lovley antique/ vintage homespun linen/hemp grain sack ~The lovely deep magenta toned stripe is beautiful with an oatmeal hemp base~ lovely! This lovely sack measures 130cm by 49cm ( 4.26 feet long by 19.29 inches wide). Of course it is really twice as long because it has two sides~*~ Each side is hand stitched with a wonderful heavy hemp stitching~ It is one long piece of linen sewn together at each side~ ~*~It is in lovely condition t are some light storage marks that will wash ~ This sack weighs 900 grams so Postage to UK is £3.00, Japan and USA is £9.75 airmail. The linen is home grown, home retted and hand woven. They age between 50-100 years old, some older. These sacks are 100% machine washable! I wash them on a regular 40c or even 60c cycle and then hang to dry ( however you can tumble dry too!). If t is dirt present simply add Oxyclean or similar~ hemp was built to last, and last .....and last...the more you use it the more wonderful it becomes~ most times t isn't even a need for ironing after wash~ perfect for easy lifestlyes~*~ ~*~I have found so many uses for these sacks. I have made floor cushions ( reading cushions for my kids), bed cushions for propping on the headboards, laundry sacks, bath mats, also they are just wonderful to open out as table read more
