This is a nice vintage/antiquetoy push or kick scooter. I would date it back to the mid-late 1920's. An all original scooter manufactured by the "AUTO WHEEL COASTER CO. INC. NORTH TONAWANDA N.Y.” The products manufactured by them through the years included toy wagons, carts, scooters , pedal bikes, sleds, sled strollers, and bobsleds. All of these were advertised as “Health Builders for Children.” “The Auto Wheel Coaster Co. moved from Buffalo to North Tonawanda in the early 1900's. Th is scooter has oak handles and a wood platform with ridges. It has a friction brake on the rear wheel. It measures about 32" tall and is about 38 1/2" long wheel to wheel. The platform measures 12 3/4" x 4 1/4". The wheels are marked "CLIPPER AKRON OHIO - 10x2 - PUNCTURE PROOF" The wheels are in good condition with no cracks but do show wear. There is a pin that holds the bodies frame to the fork and handle bars. (I will remove the fork assemble for shipping purposes and also the handle bar). It is red with a faded white stripe going down the frame. The paint is worn with age as shown. This scooter is rare and a worthy addition to any collection or display.
