This card catalog was from the old Sears parts building on Ponce in Atlanta,GA. Several card catalogs were sold at auction recently. Not all of the hardware or drawers matches perfectly, nor the wood grain or stain. Because they were used to store small parts, the inside of a few drawers are scuffed up. Some have black ink like stains on the bottom, but are covered by some pasteboard bottoms (removable) that had been cut to fit each drawer. The top and back of the cabinet has some good scrapes and chips. Of course, all of this could be fixed with refinishing or if you are like me,keep it as is for that wonderful patina. The hardware also cleans up nicely with brasso, but I like it as it is,too. If you are thinking "hey - that would be great to store CD's!" - you'd have to put them in sideways. The drawers are not quite as wide as a CD - even without the plastic case. The inside dimensions of each drawer is approximate 4.25" x 20.5". The cabinet stands 46" tall and 17.5" wide. There are 15 drawers total. There are no identifying marks to determine the maker of the cabinet.. There were some miscellaneous small parts and receipts inside which dated back to as early as 1926.
