Early estate bubble/convex glass inside gesso/plaster frame depicting Madonna & Child! Gorgeous colors, some wear to the paint cream background. I see paint in the background, not sure if the Madonna & Child is painted or transferred on somehow, possibly reverse painting on glass but done so well not sure. It is definitely on the glass. Background has flaking as you can see of the paint. The gesso plaster like frame has some small chips around the edges and paint a little lighter to make chips look less white. One chip is on the right upper corner, see pic 11, painted over but you can see the difference in color and about the size of the tip of a thumbprint. Wood backing painted pink on the inside, I would imagine the flaking background of this picture/painting can be repainted cream in the background by removing the back board if desired or leave as is...still gorgeous!! The frame is like a bevel type...it goes in deeper in the middle and nice and thick! Approx. measurements: Convex glass: 6 1/2" x 9" Outside frame 11" x 13" Thickness of side of frame: about 2" at thickest parts A couple specks of green on the cream painted gesso frame, minor. please use ebay's calculator for shipping costs in your location to save money.
