ANOTHER SUPERB ANTIQUE SOLID 18K GOLD RARITY TIMEPIECE FIND FROM ANTIQUETIMEONLINE. I AM A 100% POSITIVE EBAY POWERSELLER-BID WITH CONFIDENCE!! UP FOR AUCTION TODAY IS.... I think this is an extremely rare exciting piece so someone out t is in for a real treat when they win this auction! T are a small number of lady's18k gold half hunter wristwatches which were made for the British and European markets. Mens half hunter watches were rare. This is even rarer. It is a mans full size fantastic fully engraved watch, and one of the most beautiful of this style watch that I have seen. This is the real deal Swiss made solid 18k gold half hunter watch. I have not seen any other timepieces comparable to this early piece. DEFINITELY ONE FOR THE SERIOUS COLLECTOR! CIRCA 1910. CASE: This is an extremely good quality solid 18k gold Swiss made case. I say good quality as this is a nice substantial case. The case is nearly totally free from any damage having some very slight and light surface scratching to the case back. It has NO personal inscriptions on it. The case has the most beautiful foliate engravings all over the case front and back which look absolutley superb, and must have taken weeks or months of hand engraving, by a master craftsman. It has the original articulated fixed lugs, which also look to be solid gold and are in good condition, with one slight repair. The inside back cover and dust cover are all solid 18k gold and properly hall marked 18k as such, with Swiss control hall marks. The only thing I cannot see is a manufacturers mark though t may be more clues within the movement. The front bezel has the original engraved beautiful black enameled Roman numeral chapter ring. Condition to the case back looks to be excellent with no dents, or evidence of damage. T are just a few light surface normal wear scratches. All hinged covers operate and the case opens and closes nice and firmly. The watch is stem wound and pin set. The pin being positioned on the outer bezel at the 4 position. The 'Onion' shaped winding crown also looks to be original, is gold and is in excellent condition. The weight of the watch, including the movement is 30.0 grams. This is a mans size half hunter wristwatch which measures 3.1cms in diameter excluding the crown and lugs. DIAL: This stunning, and extremely beautiful dial is white porcelain. It is unsigned. T are NO hairlines, and NO repairs. it has the original fine steel spade type hands (double spade for the hour hand so that it can be seen with the case cover closed.) The dial also has beautiful Black Hand painted numerals of stunning quality and sharpness. The outer black painted minute track is clean, pure and crisp. The crystal is brand new, and as such is showing NO scratches. MOVEMENT: A super top quality Hi-Grade jeweled movement It is not signed that I can see though t may be something within the plates. This is not a cheap and cheerful movement and t is a visible level of refinement and finishing evident. The movement is currently in working order, and has been serviced and oiled by my watch maker, BUT the watch has stopped a couple of times, after about 5-6 hours of running time, which can be innt with watches of this age. It kicked into life with less than a turn on the crown. It winds smoothly (as though it has had minimal use). This piece dates to circa 1910. I am selling this piece with no reserve and the opening bid of just $1.99 so as I said, someone is going to get the bargain of 2007 !! BAND: This is a brand new black stitched genuine leather 12mm band. This band is a stunning compliment to this beautiful antique timepiece, and will look fabulous and classy on the wrist. It should fit up to an 8 inch wrist. Please remember that vintage watches have survived for many decades by being treated well. Vintage watches are not for wearing while doing yard work, working out, or swimming.Vintage watches cannot keep time like their quartz cousins and will need altering on average be...
