This antique clock is in great shape for its age. It comes with the key and chime, which are secured safely inside the opening door at the bottom of the clock. The face of the door that opens has a picture of some boats on the ocean - the middle of the clock displays a gold on antique white pattern. The face of the New Haven clock is in good shape - some of the black is missing off the 11. T is a glass door on the face that opens and the glass itself is in great shape and not scratched or cracked. T is a copper eagle on the top of the clock that has a little bit of tarnishing, but can be polished. The wood on the clock looks like it may be cherrywood, but I'm not positive. The clock measures 30 inches from the top of the eagle to the bottom tip of the wooden part of the bottom of the clock. The sticker on the back of the clock gives directions for 8 Day, half hour strike. The clock is named "Whitney", which I am assuming is the style name given to this particular banjo clock. I believe this clock works, but I am not certain to cannot guarantee it. I know little about clocks, and this clock was said to be working by the owner when keyed. The writing at the bottom of the face reads "THE NEW HAVEN CLOCK CO, U.S.A. SEE PATENTS NOTICE INSIDE". Please do not confuse our low starting prices with low quality. These are expensive, high-quality items but we want everyone to be able to participate in the auction without worrying about reserves. I am selling antique items from the estate of an elderly multi-millionaire.
