Up for auction is an antique Chess Set. This set belonged to my Great Aunt's Father so I know that it is an old one. It has very interesting pieces. I do not know what the pieces are made of. To me they look like possibly bakelite, but, I do not know for sure. I do not play chess or I would keep the set because it is unique. My mother remembers this set from when she was a child so we know it is old. The board itself is 23 3/4" X 23 1/2". The squares on the board are 2 3/8" by 2 3/8" square. The King is 8 inches tall. The Queen is 7 3/4 inches tall. The Bishop is 7 3/8 inches tall. The Knight is 6 7/8 inches tall. The Rook is 5 /14 inches tall. The Pawns are 3 3/4 inches tall. I am selling this set at NO RESERVE.
