Wow. What an absolutely BEAUTIFUL pot. Up for auction is an INCREDIBLE HANDMADE ANTIQUE COPPER and BRASS POT used for making APPLE BUTTER and Jam! What a GREAT thing to have! I have had this thing for LORD only knows HOW many years, and while cleaning out more "STUFF" that I'm selling, I came across it, and took a trip down memory lane when I was into primitives, BIG time! (When I find the REST of that stuff, I'll list it!) The construction of this piece is just incredible. Take a look at the pictures. See how each side piece of the handles are "fixed" into place with rivets, so that the handle didn't swing and the still-liquid and scalding apple buttler or jam didn't come sloshing over the sides? Absolutely amazing that they thought of that! And see how the handle itself has been hand forged? It's not "machine stamped" by any means! It's very clearly hand forged, as it's not the same size or shape on each side, and it has hammer and file marks on the back side that were never smoothed out. I love that about it. Someone had polished the pot before I bought it many, many years ago. I personally would never do that. But, as you can see in the photos, it's catching back up on the patina FAST! And the weight of this thing? Wow . She's a heffer. She stands a total of about 9 1/4" tall, counting the handle. The pot "bowl" is about
