Updated Brantford Icebox Refrigerator made by the Ruddy Mfg. Co. in Brantford Ontario . It dates from somew between 1900 and 1920. These folks were the major Icebox manufacturers in Canada and rivaled McCray in Canada . The refrigeration is updated and modern, so you just plug it into normal household current. The measurements are approx. 63 inches tall, 54 inches wide and 28 inches deep. As you can see from the pics, it's large and heavy as we believe the wood to be oak. This would be great for a period home with a large kitchen or a bar or old time country store or shop. Realtors have advised that it won't add to the sell price of the house and it's way too cool a piece to give away. It's an antique with the usual wear that you would expect. But, again, it's been modernized. It will be pick-up only or we would be happy to work with you on getting it picked up by an Antique moving company (check the web) or Craters and Freighter or someone like that. But, it has to be picked up from its present location in Kansas City , MO. Two large moving company guys used straps to carry this thing in but four regular folks would probably be needed to get it onto a truck if you do it yourself. Timing isn't a huge issue for pick-up as the rehab on this home is only 75% finished and we can store it w it sits for a month or maybe a bit longer read more
