This auction is for a nice old Schuco Trip Trap Dog. This is really a rare find. "Trip Trap" refers to the way his legs are hinged with wheels on the inside bottom so that when you pull him he glides along with a kind of walking motion. He is also identified by his original red plastic collar with it's "Schuco Trip Trap" tag. The dog's body and head are hard stuffed and covered in short brown mohair, with longer tufts of mohair on the top of his head and snout. He has glass eyes, a plastic nose and a stiched mouth. The dog's legs are mohair covering a plastic or metal shell (I am really not sure which), hinged to the body and with wheels on the bottom. The wheels are attached to the legs and body in such a way that the legs go back and forth when they roll. All together the dog measures 7 inches long and 8 inches tall. The dog is in very good used working condition. Besides the fact that the mechanism is pretty impressive, he is also really cute. Just look at that face in the last picture!
