Hello, and welcome to our auction. For your consideration we have a Meriden Silver Company front desk bell with a beautiful lady figure. The bell is in excellent condition for its age which is marked pat aug 25,1863 apr,8 56 on the rim at the top of the bell. No damage is present except for a slight bend in the bells plunger. T is detailed engraving on both sides of the piece also the feet have a detailed twisted branch look. T are initials engraved on the base MM. Everything appears to be original except for the screw that holds her left foot to the base which also needs to be tightened. The figure shows exceptional detail. Some cleaning may be needed to make the bell mechanism operate smoothly. The bell has a very nice tone and shows no dents or damage. What else can i say !!! This is an exciting piece certainly one you dont see very often. The auction will start at a low opening bid and as usual no RESERVE!! Please ask all questions before bidding.
