A BEAUTIFUL CIRCA 1890 SOLID .0935 SOLID SILVER EUROPEAN HALLMARKED LADY'S RARE LARGE SIZE FOB POCKET WATCH WITH A STUNNING AND BEAUTIFUL HAND PAINTED FLORAL AND GILT DECORATED DIAL. DESCRIPTION: For your viewing pleasure today is a very nice circa 1890 solid silver key wound lady's large size fob pocket watch. This watch is in excellent condition. It has an absolutely BEAUTIFUL and extremely ornate porcelain dial which is in near mint condition! T are no major dings or dents to the outside of the case. The front and rear covers snap on nice and tight. The rear cover is hinged and t are no signs of abuse.The case is decorated with a beautifully deep cut engraved flower and leaf design which is sharp and crisp showing little, if any wear at all!. The cartouche has no personalizations. The watch is hall marked WITH Swiss import marks for .935 silver dating the watch to circa 1890. The near mint dial is snow white in color showing no wear even under magnification. It has absolutely no cracks hairlines or chips!. All of the black painted ROMAN numerals, are crisp and pin sharp. The hands are in excellent condition with the minute hand looking like a replacement. The dial has a stunning and beautiful 22k gold and silver HAND PAINTED center dial decoration which is also in excellent condition. Even the dust cover is solid silver, and is hall marked as such!! The dustcover has some slight dings, and does not snap shut tightly. The crystal shows a one or two light marks but not seen unless under magnification. The watch has come fresh from an English country estate. The piece is running and winds and sets with a key which I will of course supply, so that It can be used straight away! The movement keeps decent time, but a service would be recommended for optimum performance. The ¾ gilt plate movement is in lovely condition, and is unsigned. This is a fine SOLID SILVER watch which is ready to wear, or store away as a heirloom for future generations.The measures 3.8 cms! in diameter excluding the bow which is a healthy large sized fob watch. Please remember that vintage watches have survived for many decades by being treated well. Vintage watches are not for wearing while doing yard work, working out, or swimming.Vintage watches cannot keep time like their quartz cousins and will need altering on average between +-2 to +-5 mins per day. They are a little more destructible than modern watches. Vintage watches also require periodic service and cleaning. Every couple of years, they would like their 20,000 mile checkup, oil change, and general service. By taking care of your vintage watch, you will have years of great service, and a quality heirloom to pass to another generation.
