UP FOR BIDS, IS AN ANTIQUE TEMPLETONE DRY CELL RADIO. THE FRONT HAS A LATCH, WHICH WHEN OPENED, REVEALS THE FACE. IT READS BROADCAST AND SHORTWAVE. THE DIAL TURNS, AND THE NEEDLE POINTS TO THE APPROPRIATE AREA. T IS AN ON AND OFF SWITCH. T IS A KNOB WHICH SHOWS SW. I ASSUME THIS IS SHORT WAVE. IT TURNS ON OR OFF. T ARE TWO PROTRUDING SCREWS WHICH ARE LABELED A AND G. I ASSUME THIS IS ANTENNA AND GROUND. THE PLATE ON THE FRONT OF THE RADIO, READS: TEMPLETONE RADIO MFG CORP. SERIAL NO. 2841. TYPE NO. BP2-A5. NEW LONDON, CONN. THE ENTIRE RADIO IS PAINTED AN ARMY GREEN. T IS SOME WHITE PAINT ON THE TOP OF THE RADIO, WHICH IS VISIBLE IN THE PHOTO. THE BACK OF THE RADIO HAS 10 SCREWS HOLES. WHEN THE BACK OF THE RADIO IS REMOVED, YOU CAN SEE THE TUBES, AND THE CONNECTOR WIRE FOR THE BATTERY, WITH FOUR PRONGS. ON THE REVERSE SIDE OF THE BACK BOARD, IS WHAT APPEARS TO BE THE SCHEMATIC OF THE RADIO, AND SOME ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. ONE SPOT READS: SHUT OFF SET WHEN NOT IN USE. BATTERIES ARE SCARCE. STAMPED ON THE BACK SIDE, IS WHAT APPEARS TO BE: C-3 IS 220 MMF. I DON'T KNOW THE HISTORY OF THIS RADIO. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS USED IN THE CCC CAMPS, CIVILIAN CONSERVATION CORPS., IN NORTHERN MINNESOTA. THESE WERE ESTABLISHED BY FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT, AROUND 1933. I CAN'T VERIFY THIS. THE RADIO IS BEING SOLD AS IS, SINCE I AM UNABLE TO TRY IT OUT. THE TUBES APPEAR TO BE INTACT. I DON'T SEE ANY DAMAGE TO THEM. THE RADIO LOOKS TO BE AN INTERESTING ADDITION FOR A COLLECTOR OF VINTAGE RADIOS. RADIO IS 11 INCHES TALL, 7 1/8 INCHES DEEP, AND 13 INCHES WIDE. UNIT WEIGHS 11 POUNDS.
